 Injections

As we age, creases in the forehead and around the eyes become deeper and more visible due to the strong action of the facial muscles. Injections that temporarily weaken these muscles can dramatically improve these wrinkles. Dr Matthew Camp is happy to offer neuromodulation injections to patients in Minnetonka, Edina and Burnsville Minnesota.

Improvements from Neuromodulation Injections

The overall goal is to halt and reverse the formation of deep facial wrinkles. There are limits, but it is well within reason to take off 5-10 years of your apparent age. The results generally last 3-6 months. With repeated treatments, the muscles can be expected to weaken to the point that they no longer require treatment. This takes a couple years of faithful treatment every 3 months.

The areas that most benefit are the forehead, and crows feet. It is also possible to achieve a mild brow lift with strategic placement of the medication.

About Neuromodulation Injections

Neuromodulation injections act by binding the motor nerves and decreasing the release of a neurotransmitter, causing a neuromuscular blocking effect. Dr Camp performs injections in clinic. The entire process just takes a few minutes.

Filler (Hyaluronic Acid)

As we age, facial tissues naturally deflate, leading to deepening of wrinkles and creases in the face. Injection of filler material is a popular means of remediating these effects. The filler material is hyaluronic acid which is a natural component of the soft tissues of the face. When injected, the filler incorporates into the face. The effect is temporary. Depending on the formulation of the product used, this filler can be expected to last 3 months to greater than 12 months. The difference in duration is due to the crosslinking of the product. Firm fillers last longer, soft filler fades more quickly. Soft filler is best for around the eyes and in the lips. The firm fillers work well in the cheeks and temples.  Dr Matthew Camp is happy to offer filler to patients in Minnetonka, Edina, and Burnsville, Minnesota.

Improvements from Filler

The overall goal is to lift and sculpt the face to recover the look of youth. There are limits to this technique, but it is well within reason to take off 5-10 years of your apparent age. The results generally last less than a year.

A longer lasting alternative to temporary fillers is fat grafting. Fat grafting is more economical in the long term, as the effect is permanent.
